Designing a chair is not much different from designing an architectural project. Both follow the same principles: scale, dimension, proportion, light, material, color, and, above all, their relationship with the human body. Understanding how the body interacts with this object is the main challenge in its design. Like any other object, it should not be seen as purely functional, but as something that transcends the simple act of use.

Santa Cruz reveals a pure and easily readable object, composed of two elements: a cross that serves as the base, and a seat that rests upon it. The base, heavy and with right angles, is contrasted by a light, organic seat that seeks the ideal silhouette of the human body, creating a contradictory yet harmonious dialogue within the chair.

The structure is made from laminated birch plywood, while the seat is covered with bordeaux linoleum, which defines its color and enhances its durability.
